According to eMarketer, “digital’s share of total advertising will near 50% by 2020.” It accounts for social media, Google and other online advertising placements. Here is a break down of the most common social media advertising platforms and how to best use your money.
Facebook – There are two ways you can advertise, Facebook boosted posts and Facebook Ads. Boosted posts are an option on posts you put up on your page. If your page is set up as a business account, you can click the “boost” button on a post, select your dollar amount, select the length of the boost and watch your post gain more interaction. Facebook Ads allow you to selectively target, time, budget and promote advertisements on Facebook. It is more specific with its audience targeting capabilities, reporting, and types of advertising. You can create video, slideshow and single image ads within a Facebook ad campaign and turn off ads if necessary.
Instagram – In order to advertise on Instagram, it needs to be connected to your Facebook Business page and become a business page.
