Fly Pages is proud to offer digital marketing internship opportunities to students seeking real-world agency experience as an intern. We sat down for an intern Q&A with our Fly Pages Content Writing Intern, Macee Borrowman, to learn more about her and the experience she gained as an intern with us. Macee has been a member of the Fly Pages team since January 2023 and, in that time, gained experience in social media content creation, analytics, and more. As her internship comes to an end, we wish her well in her future endeavors. Read on to learn more about Macee.
What was your internship title and role?
MB: As the Content Writing Intern, I would help with posting on social media accounts, writing and editing social captions, creating data reports, creating graphics and reels, and writing blogs for the Fly Pages website.
What is your major and when will you graduate college?
MB: I’m majoring in English and Communication and I graduate in May 2024.
How well did the digital marketing internship align with your academic and career goals?
MB: This internship aligned well with my academic and career goals because the tasks I completed during my internship helped me feel out what types of jobs or projects I liked and disliked the most while also learning new things about myself and the marketing/social media world.
Can you describe one of your favorite projects or tasks and why you enjoyed it?
MB: One of my favorite tasks I did during my internship was to create and edit social media captions for our clients. This helped me do what I love most, reading and writing, while also having the ability to be creative and take the voice of different brands.
How would you describe the work environment and company culture at Fly Pages from your perspective?
MB: Fly Pages sets an amazing example of what a positive work experience should look like. My favorite aspect of Fly Pages is how everyone is a team player and the atmosphere is very open and welcoming. I am grateful for having this work environment at such an early time in my work life so I can now know what a positive work environment should be like.
As your internship job comes to an end, what advice would you give to future interns looking to make the most of their experience at Fly Pages?
MB: The piece of advice I would give future interns is to use their resources when needed! The Fly Pages team is so amazing and is always willing to help out and give suggestions when needed. This is a learning experience, it is definitely okay to ask questions and absorb as much information as you can!
What’s next for you?
MB: For my senior year of college, I plan to take this time to really envision my life post-graduation and enjoy my final year of school.
Who is your favorite superhero, and if you had a superpower, what would it be?
MB: My favorite superhero is Spiderman! I love all of the Spiderman movies. If I had a superpower, I would want laser eyes to roast marshmallows for s’mores whenever I want!
What is your favorite social media platform and why?
MB: The platform I spend most of my time on is probably TikTok. Like almost everyone my age, it is easy to get sucked into all the trending videos. I use this platform to see the newest beauty products and hacks, but my main use of it is to get book ideas and to hear reviews as I am an avid reader.
Thank you, Macee, for all of your hard work in supporting our team and our clients! We can’t wait to watch you grow in your career.
